Benefits to having an Outdoor Fitness Park in Black Diamond:
Outdoor fitness parks are accessible, affordable, easy to use & FUN (HR Parks & Rec.)
Develops physical coordination, strength, and flexibility which helps prevent injury & chronic illness (including high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity,) = less cost on health care
The International Council on Active Aging endorses outdoor fitness parks as “adult playgrounds” encouraging baby boomers & seniors to embrace healthier, active lifestyles
Becoming more active positively affects mood, boosts the immune system and improves health and well-being
Being a healthy community means creating a variety of opportunities for residents to be physically active
Vitamin D & fresh air are good for us!
A place where people of all ages and abilities can meet to increase their physical activity and social interactions!
